Climate Launchpad Grand Final 2018

November 2 2018

We are happy to announce that BioKind was selected as one of the top 10 finalists (out of 1500 international teams) for the 2018 Climate Launchpad Grand Final. As a result of this, we have won direct access to EIT Climate-KIC accelerator, which is an 18-month program that would offer funding of up to €95,000. The Grand Final event was a 2 day pitching event that was held in Edinburgh, Scotland this year, which involved over 160 teams from 44 different countries.
The semi-final round kicked off in Day 1, where 160 start-ups pitched fiercely to secure a chance at the finals. BioKind managed to become 1 of only 16 teams to make it through to the finals, which was held in Day 2. Out of the 16 teams, BioKind was selected as one of the top 10 start-ups to have direct access to the accelerator programme, because of our big potential to address climate change whilst building a successful business along the way.
BioKind is proud to have been able to represent England and Imperial College London at this prestigious, global clean-tech competition.

BioKind pitched to the Grand Final panel of judges, which includes Kirsten Dunlop (CEO of Climate-KIC), Dawn Lippet (CEO of Elemental Accelerator), Dr. Ashwin Mahesh (Co-founder of Lithium) and Pius Kamau Ng’ang’a (CEO of Capital Strategies Ltd. )

Our pitch was live-streamed over Youtube, which can be viewed through the embedded video below (automatically skipped to time stamp 06:11:30) :
